If there has ever been one stock that I completely missed on it is Michael Kors (NYSE:KORS). Back in November 2014, February of last year, and several times since, I have tried relentlessly to use logic as a reason for why investors should buy KORS stock. However, I was wrong, and now I fear that history is repeating itself with Fitbit (NYSE:FIT).
One final note on management, which overall shows solid stewardship. In addition to visionary Michael Kors, who remains the chief creative officer, honorary chairman and a director of the firm, the executive team boasts of having chairman and CEO John Idol, who has been the chairman since September 2011 and the CEO and a director since December 2003. Mr. Idol previously served as chairman, CEO and a director of Kasper ASL, Ltd. (whose lines included Anne Klein) and as CEO and a director of Donna Karan International Inc. Joseph Parsons, executive vice president, CFO, COO and treasurer, has an equally strong background. The firm remains in good hands.
